Doesn't matter. She's had a long career and you're probably still welcoming people to Walmart.

I would say that on a website having to do with the arts, whether someone can do their job or not is relevant.
Brooke Shields is utterly gorgeous, and theatricallyneutral. She's a perfectly nice person who performs no better (or worse) than anyone's average cousin would if they were told they had to support themselves by acting.
She's had 50 years to give a great or even very good performance, and still it eludes her.

I enjoy her on her occasional appearances on The Middle & she wasn't half bad on That 70's Show as Mila Kunis' mother. "Jackie".

Good point. And I think she has a lot of talent.

The op obviously has a brilliant mind. I mean, hey, he/she watches shows like America's Next Top Model. So, he's/she's obviously an expert on talent.

CAastronaut, don't you have an Oscar to polish and an autobiography to write?

I'd have agreed with the OP until recently. She was always one of those actors who could only play an idealized version of herself.
However, as Rita Glossner, she's magnificent. I barely recognized her. It may be the first time she's actually acted a role, and nailed it 100%.

I've only just realised now that Rita is Brooke Shields! A bit gobsmacked. She's FANTASTIC!

Her talent lies in the existential realm. She is not a classical talent, therefore is difficult to define accurately. Bottom line is that she exists, she's famous, and she's rich. Eat your heart out.
