Knitting is something that is more of a female dominated skill, whereas in a commercial arena, both men and women would be operating knitting machinery.
It just amuses me, even if only 2yrs ago, that sexuality still gets attributed to certain things if out of the perceived norm.

Well now I feel really stupid. A few winters ago, I was given something that looked just like that but was told it was a face warmer. So the last couple of years I've been wearing that over my nose and chin whenever I went out in the cold. No wonder people always gave me dirty looks. I thought they were just jealous of my face warmer.
