This isn't body odor, though. It's pervasive. My friend used to live in an apartment building with an Indian neighbor, and you could smell it down the hall.

I actually bought some cheap ass dollar store incense yesterday and it turned out to smell just like the **** they use (at least what i'm familiar with) and I ended up throwing it all away because it was so nasty.

The only time they've smelled different is when you can smell their cooking on them. Like the usual blend of tumeric, cumin, cayenne, etc.

I think the cooking is a factor, but I'm leaning towards the incense, because sometimes it's strong in places where no cooking has occurred, like the gas station or a hotel lobby.

Well, you know smells carry and travel with you. I remember once there was a bunch of us in an elevator, and this guy got in who reeked of garlic.
I don't know if he had just finished eating a meal with garlic or what, but he had the whole elevator fuming! When he got out, people were talking about the smell.
