Early on a weekday is the best time to get groceries

I'm not a fan of Houston's city planning. I went there in 2021. There were some things I liked about the city, but it's not walkable at all. The drivers are assholes. Like Louisiana is bad, especially in Baton Rouge, but Texas is worse.
It's weird that they have the mall right there among the skyrises. In my experience, the malls tend to be right off the interstate, maybe in a more suburban part of the city, or at least not a lot of buildings around. -

The city is huge and there are cities within the city limits so actually most have their own mall, shops, grocery stores, pharmacies etc. so no one really has to venture out unless they are going to a specific place. The Galleria is the expensive mall and right off the I-10. There are no zoning laws and that sucks. A fire station was built in between homes in a subdivision.

Ideally, there'd be walkable homes and shops in a city. I'm glad in my part of town, we have a smaller version of that, but only part of the town is like that. Like the university area and downtown combined are all walkable, bit unfortunately, there's no longer a grocery store you can walk to. There used to be.
Funny how the mall there is off i-10, and the one one Baton Rouge also is -

I-10 is a long Interstate lol. There are a few malls off of it. Check out Katy, Tx. Itβs right past the Houston border. Great example of it having its own city, mall, shops etc. They even have a Bucees. I used to live five miles away from there or less.

Yeah, I stayed in a hotel in Katy. It's kinda ugly in that area. A lot of grey new buildings and blandness. I think the HEB I went to was also in Katy.
I went to the Baytown Bucees though. -

We did that around the pandemic, but they'd always be out of what we wanted. Also, since I started being the one who does it, I kind of wing some of the meals, and figure out what I want to cook while I'm there, often based on stuff like sales on meat.
