"But that doesn't mean that he hasn't worked hard or that he doesn't deserve his success"
Of course he hasn't worked hard - daddy's allowance meant he never had to worry about the rent or his next meal. Daddy's money made sure he was invited to the right parties. Daddy's contacts will have opened a lot of doors.
And acting is pretending to be someone else - hardly hard work. A morbidly obese person can act without getting out of breath.
A lot of Hollywood thrives on nepotism - do you think Jewish people are really more talented than others? Yet there are huge numbers of them. I have nearly 600 channels on my TV, yet there is hardly anything worth watching - everything is the same old same old. Time to let real creativity in.
Saying all that - I liked The Lone Ranger! -

A lot of actors, particularly this generation, seem to come from rich backgrounds or rich acting backgrounds.
I don't see the need to specifically put Mr rich kid Armie Hammer down when the Mara sisters, Gyllenhaal siblings, Michael Douglas, Sheen, Dreyfus, Michelle Williams, Glenn Close, Drew Barrymore, Bryce Dallas Howard, Coppolas, Liv Tyler, Kate Hudson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Rashida Jones all have similar backgrounds, all had help either financially or connections wise or both in getting in the industry.da0 It's just the way of the world.
Then again you have huge current stars like Chris Pratt, or older stars like Tom Cruise, with normal lower to middle-class backgrounds, so the Hollywood dream isn't completely a lie -

Hard to gauge. I don't buy the story that he had to struggle on his own; I think he had help. To people like the Hammer's being "cut off" is often being cut off from the luxuries or excess that they are accustomed too; doesn't mean he didn't have a dollar to his name.
That being said, Armie is a 6'5 adonis with classically "perfect" looks so, unlike other actors, it can't be presumed that this didn't affect his rise. Balthazar Getty comes from a wealthy family and still looks handsome but, when was the last time you saw him in anything major? -

Sean Penn, Robert Downey Jr., Keifer Sutherland, Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez, and so many others sure they didn't have ARM AND HAMMER money, but they had a way in, easier than most, because of director and/or acting fathers I think though to strike a chord with the public after getting in, however you get in, is what matters Some last, others peter out

I think it's more that he's tall and cute that got him success in show business. It confounds the heck out of me how life, and society, is so unfair to some people. Not only does he have advantages because of his height and looks, but he comes from the (lucky) wealthy family.
I'm not even allowed to sing karaoke in neighborhood bars because I'm an ugly little twerp.
My name is Tim, and I'm not wearing any pants!
