Don't even think about remaking this one. Don't make me come over and strangle you.
Besides, the plotline and general atmosphere of the movie seems to be so intrinsically Sixties that I can't really see how it could be credibly transposed to a modern setting.
People who cry about remakes are idiotsdoes every copy of the original get destroyed in a fire once a remake is made, or something? -

Watched the movie yesterday for the first time and after it thats what I was thinking about too.
I can imagine a remake without the Hollywood big shots. Just a random party with a guy who is so out of place like Hrundi is in this Film. I can imagine Will Ferrell or Dana Carvey in such a role. -

I like the steve carrell idea because he's able to be bumbling but is still caring enough like Hrundi was.
What if you made it backwards, and had Steve Carrell attend an indian party and be the guy completely out of touch?

There was an Indian movie named Namak Halaal Starring Amitabh Bacchan.
A portion of it was based on and was a scene to scene copy of The Party.

Sure, I think they could do a remake only this time with an actual Indian actor playing Hrundi. The central plot idea (a bumbling guy causing chaos at a party) can be done in a new interpretation and parodying today's overblown Hollywood lifestyles can be funny if done well.
