In 1839, president Van Buren is on the campaign trail for the 1840 election. Which is ridiculous for 2 reasons
- Presidents didn't campaign in person the way they do today back then
- Unlike today campaigns didn't last an entire year.
That was the first of many historical inaccuracies.
Why work when, you can vote Democrat instead.

It's a good thing:
- This wasn't a documentary
- This wasn't about how campaigns worked in 1839
- They didn't interrupt the plot and spend valuable screen time to explain it since it wasn't important to what the movie is actually about.
