This film is a bit sexist in my opinion

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think that sexism is something that was present in this film. One of the point in the film, in my opinion, is knowing what you had to do to stay alive, whether or not it was right. The initial intentions of Major West wasn't to rape women any more than it was Jim's intention to kill the infected little boy or Selena's intention to murder Mark. You kill an infected boy before he kills you. You murder your friend before he turns and kills you. You think the world is over and feel this responsibility to make sure humanity doesn't end. Most incidents like this in the film were showing that you have to do what you have to do to survive, no matter what it is. You could tell that Major West felt guilty for what was about to happen to the girls. But he felt it was what needed to be done to make sure humanity didn't end.
Now on to the pigs that were all for the rape. They were extremely excited about it. I think that this was the second point in the film: showing the awful things people would do because they can get away with it. But yes, they did turn into animals, which is because there's nothing stopping them. No one judging them. It's a scary thought, that's for sure. -

As someone who has been R-worded? I don't appreciate that analogy
Its NOT a sexist film!!! Btw? Are you a film and media student? I notice just how many people start asking filmic questions around the time for dissertations

Helpless? Serena was far from helpless, more it was just too many men.
I really don't like this whole analogy where it seems to have become ok to say that raping them would be ok for the continuance of the species
Nope. Power and control. R-word is a violent act and about control. Selena took most of that away by giving her some pillsand saved some for herself. You go limp? Theres no fun in for them.
Luckily? Most army guys are NOT like this.

It's really just the word 'Helpless' that I personally have an issue with, it makes her seem weak, when she was far from it.
"You can take and abuse my body but you will never take my mind, my mind is my own." - Anon.
I view her as being kick-ass but will deal with each situation as it comes Gang rape or whatever She will deal with it and be strong every time.
Tho maybe Im reading into it just exactly what I want to?

Exactlytake away women and go to the army! Men are going to become horny, then take away women full stop. They are going to see two women who as a group of men they are easily going to overpower, there will be a limited amount of things going through their minds, and it's not, "Oh I'm going to help this lady start anew in the world and become a mother." It is, "PUSSY!"

Jesus. You need to gang rape a 14 year old on the day she watched her father die in order to save humanity? Having men and women would ensure humanity. Why would rape be any more necessary with just 2 women present? Eventually they likely would have had babies. Without being gang raped. Selena would have likely bred with Jim, obviously.
The major just wanted to get his boys sex as a treat. -

To have drama you need conflict and surprise. The heroes thought they had reached the promised land when they discovered the soldiers, which turned out to be as bad as the ragers. If there were no bad guys/girls in stories they would all be boring.

The film would be sexist if it was condoning rape. It was not, in any way, doing that. I think people forget the meanings of words and try to bend them to mean what they want them to mean. The terminology the op was going for was 'misandrist'.
What was slightly addressed, above, was what would make people who may have not been violent in their previous lives be so easily okay with committing violent atrocities as keeping unwilling women as their own personal 'courtesans'. It is the idea that the world as you know it has ended. In this film, they truly believed there was going to be no more world. One officer was going to kill himself believing there was no hope. This can change even the most pacifistic person. Were their subsequent reactions justified? No. One would think that once they saw their world wasn't as dark as they had feared, they would have found the good that was once within themselves, to not think about harming the females. There was the one officer that was against it and was killed for trying to be the voice of reason. This, alone, was proof the movie wasn't saying all men would turn into rapists. Like others stated above, those others were probably not truly good people, in their past lives.
The point of the movie, pretty much, is that people can be good and people can be bad. The pro-rapists were as bad and fearful as the infected.

West, who did not seem to be a rapist himself, but rather a man obsessed with more abstract forms of power and control, used the sexuality of the men under his command to motivate them. Prior to his promise of finding them women, his men were becoming suicidal. He encouraged base and violent desires in his soldiers in order to displace their despair.
