# 3 On My Top 10 Superhero Movie List…

Sorry you feel that way.
Personally I find "Unbreakable" gains stature with each viewing and that "Signs" is the least successful of Shyamalans opening quartet. Then again I also loved the "Village" but get why "horror/thriller" fans might be underwhelmed by it.
Conversely, I just re-watched Watchmen and it crashed and burned before my eyes.
Don't get me wrong I think Zack Snyder, his cast, and crew worked miracles translating the original graphic novel, but you can't make silk out of a sows ear and in the cold light of hindsight
Alan Moore's original GN is actually a hollow misanthropic slice of epicly packaged pulp with unrealized thematic ambitions way above it's station.
There I said it.
But praise to Snyder for his (misguided) labor of love and in particular
******** SPOILER **********
..his ballsy decision to ditch Moores lazy and ridiculous "Giant Alien Squid" climax and substitute "Dr Manhatten" as earth's pseudo-nemesis, thereby salvaging the narrative threads some much needed substance and integrity.
If only you could see what I have seen with your eyes. -

Dude. That was lazy.
Instead of the glib one liner, how about you highlight some of the Graphic Novels merits.
Could be I failed to plumb Moores hidden depths.
If only you could see what I have seen with your eyes. -

That is quite literally the first time I have ever heard someone talk about the graphic novel like that. It's such a different kind of opinion that it may take some time to process.

I really don't get why people don't like TASM2. It's a masterpiece. The love story is done way better in TASM 1 & 2 than in the Raimi trilogy, and the whole reboot is so much closer to what the comics are.
I guess people just don't like Garfield for whatever reason. But in my opinion he's doing a much better job than McGuire, and Emma Stone can act circles around Kirsten Dunst.
Really, I don't see how a true comics fan could not like either of these movies.

I wouldn't exactly call TASM2 a masterpiece, but it was certainly not the odd man out of the 4 superhero movies this year. It and Interstellar were my most anticipated movies going into 2014, and I enjoyed it much more than X-Men: DOFP (which I also liked).
The only film on your list I absolutely would not include is Thor 2. For me, it's only half of a good movie. And as that half is good, and not great, I can't in good conscience support it, and deem it one of Marvel's lesser efforts. The only one on your list I have not seen is Batman Returns.
For reference, here are my top 15 superhero movies:- Watchmen (in my top 3 of all-time next to Interstellar and The Hobbit trilogy)
- Iron Man 3 (took me a long time to come around to this one)
- The Dark Knight
- Captain America: The First Avenger
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- The Amazing Spider-Man
- The Avengers
- X2: X-Men United
- Superman Returns (never understood the hate for this)
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2
- Batman Begins
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier
- X-Men: First Class
- Hellboy 2: The Golden Army
- Thor

- Hellboy
- Guardian of the Galaxy
- X-Men: First Class (or X2 depending on my mood)
Least Favorite:
Man of Steel (Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn)
I'm not an actor, I just play one on TV.

1-The Dark Knight
2-Batman Begins
3-The Dark Knight Rises
4-X-Man Days of Future Past
5-Watchman
6-X-Man First Class
7-Man In Black
8-300
9-Iron Man
10-The Avengers
300
a superhero movie? I don't think so. I loved it though.
My main problem with Nolan's Batman films is that the hand to hand combat scenes are atrocious. Batman is supposed to be a master of MANY different martial arts yet he never throws a kick? They should have got some Hong Kong martial arts choreographer or something. You can almost say that the corny 60s show with the ZOWIE! and BLAM! had better fight scenes that Nolan's. However, everything else was pretty damn good.

Post edited. I don't know what was wrong with me when I made this list. Clearly 300 is not a superhero movie at all. Maybe I was drunk or something at the time
You are right about the Batman films. The lacking of Batman's hand to hand combat skills was okay for me at first, but started bothering me a little during repeated viewings. The rest of the actions are very good though. -

The Dark Knight Trilogy has grown on me, but I still can't take those movies all that seriously. But then, I've always been more of a Marvel fan than D.C. I love the Burton Batman films, though. And even Batman & Robin has a special place in my heart cause I love Uma Thurman, and Arnie is hilarious as Mr. Freeze.

1 Watchmen
2 V for Vendetta
3 The Dark Knight
4 X-men First Class
5 Thor
6 Guardians of the Galaxy
7 Captain America The Winter Soldier
8 Iron Man
9 Blade
10 X-Men
That's my movie list. Does V for Vendetta count? If Series Count I would remove X-Men and shift 5-9 down one spot and put Daredevil Netflix Series in 5 spot -
