Brad Pitt and Leo DiCaprio in a remake?

No, they're not as good of a pair as Redford and Newman were, but they'd still be a pretty handsome pair and they would be able to pull off the roles. Despite the fact that Brad Pitt has blond hair, I'm still picturing him as the role of Butch and Leo as the role of Sundance. I don't know the details about the actual people though. Maybe Sundance got his nickname because of his blond hair. I suppose a remake could be an insult to the original movie and the epic pairing of Redford and Newman, but I would still prefer to see that than a lot of the films Hollywood is coming out with these days. It would be a good movie that would sell well without a heavy use of CGI effects.

I agree with you, but think about all of the crap Hollywood is coming out with these days. Action movies have gotten a tad better since The Dark Knight was released, but there's still too much crap out there. A remake of a good movie would be the lesser of two evils, and I think a remake of this is smarter than a remake of something like Lawrence of Arabia, which is what someone actually considered on the message board for that movie. That's like trying to remake Citizen Kane or 2001.

THANK YOU!!!
If it's not broken, don't fix it. This is my absolute favorite movie of all time. I remember going to see it in the theater. It was backed at that time with the East Of Java movie, lol. Yep, back then when you could actually have fun for under $5.
There is no "remaking" of thisleave it alone people!!
Nobody can replace the Newman & Redford pair. Please, just leave them alone. Let them have the glory they so richly deserve. In a single wordLegendary is what they were & always will be. -

Actually, in a way it is broken. But I wouldn't remake the movie, just redo the soundtrack. A new soundtrack could make this movie amazing again.
Okay, I would also just plain delete the sequence of still shots that cover the trip to Bolivia.
The movie is never as good after they first leave home, but a new soundtrack and a few edits could do wonders.

I don't think anyone can really match the chemistry of Newman and Redford, but those would be those two. I wouldn't want a remake, but something in the vein of this would be a perfect vehicle for Clooney and Pitt to showcase their charisma and acting abilities. A film of that nature would do what the Ocean movies never could, present the two as the icons of cinema they truly are.

Yeah, petegatt, I thoroughly agree. All these remakes and reboots seem like just lazily treading water, wasting an opportunity for telling new stories. Especially when the previous versions still work.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment. -
