Reading some of the reviews posteda lot of people didn't like this movie because they watched it dubbed in English. Don't do that.
The movie was decent, nasty at times (gag), but I'm sure I would've hated it had I watched it dubbed.
Granted, I did giggle at some cheesy moments despite the fact that I watched it in German. I don't know how other countries are about this but foreign movies that are dubbed into American English are going to be stupidno doubts about it.
    WATCH THIS ONE IN GERMAN

I love this movie, too. The characters are very cool, and the story is interesting. The first time I saw it, I had to see it dubbed (I only had a VCR and the VHS is dubbed). I also hate it when they do that - as someone I know has said, the original language is one of the essential elements of a film. I rented it again afterwards, when I got a DVD player, so that was way better.

We agree on that. It just doesn't synchronize which ticks me off. Also, the sounds are not as expected and often the same. The former is a problem if say you're used to a certain voice of a certain actor which you're used to speaking English. I really recommend people to always watch the movie in the original language.
This means i cannot watch German television for movies because 1) don't want dubbed versions 2) when originally German-spoken (like Anatomie) there are no Dutch or English subtitles while when spoken it goes just a little bit too fast. With German subtitles it'd be about doable because reading German is easier for me, but German subtitles are very rare, given the Germans mostly dub. I watched the German and with subtitles it was just fine.
One cool thing of the game Half Life 2 is that they made it in such way that one can set a different language and the graphic part is still synchronized with audio because of a special technique implemented into graphics which is used when a character speaks. Would also be cool for adventures. But thats CGI, not the once-shot-show-all syndrome of a movie. (Hey Half Life 2 was ontopic, right? 🙂

Reading subtitles kinda hurt my head and besides it takes the focus away from what's going on the screen, having to concentrate on subs.
Unless a movie is a masterpiece, I prefer the dubbed version.

I'm watching id dubbed right now on TV. It sounds like the earlier asian film dubs, funny, but I wouldn't have watched it if it were in German, beacause I (I don't mean any offense) just dont like German language, thought I've been studying it for years in school :D.

I agree. Don't watch this film dubbed. The voice actors didn't do a good job. Also, I read a review entitled, "Great Movie - But Best Viewed in English." The reviewer said the movie wasn't dubbed. The actors "
                          reall did speak English
" (in the movie).. What the hell? Is there another version out there? I watched this movie both in English and German. The English version's clearly dubbed.. The reviewer was probably just high or something.
                          Erm, I have a feeling I shouldn't care

Foreign films dubbed in German usually seem good to me, but American dubbing of foreign movies is

Well I had the misfortune to watch the film dubbed into English and with Bulgarian subtitles (since it was on a Bulgarian channel). But I agree with you about dubbing films.
All in all, the film was a surprisingly good way to pass 2 hours on a Friday night

You'll be glad to know, I watched this movie twice within about a three-year timespan only in German. No English dub. 🙂

I think if a movie is good enough, it doesn't matter if it's dubbed. For example, I liked High Tension even though the main character speaker had a French accent that really threw me for a loop the first twenty minutes. Plus, I know a lot of people that refuse to watch a movie with subtitles, because they want to watch, not spend two hours reading. I think the same thing applies, though. If the film is good enough, dubbing and subtitles are pretty much the last things on my mind.

I loved this film when I saw it at the cinema (German, Swedish subtitles) so I went and got the VHS when it came out (English, Swedish subtitles) and found it incredibly distracting to see German actors talk about "Munich" and "Haydelburgh" in an American accent instead of "Mnchen" and "Heidelberg". When I got the DVD, I was so relieved I could watch it in its original language with subtitles! And I still think it's a great movie even today!

Yeah. Dubs suck, especially the one in "Anatomie". I wouldn't reccomend watching ANY foreign movie with a dub. My dad was watching "Stalingrad" and the dubbing was ridiculous. The only dub I've seen that was pretty accurate was "Lola Rennt", but I didn't like it that much because it made the movie sound like it should be on Lifetime.
And the voices didn't fit Franka or Moritz.
